A collection of photography and poems. This work examines the claim that rural spaces, communities, and cultures represent the “real” version of a given country. This is an assertion that has been made more frequently over the last decade to decade-and-a-half. Through a combination of documentary, landscape, and abstract photographies, as well as poetry, I explore what this "reality" entails.

This book was shortlisted for the Deutscher Fotobuchpreis 2019/20 in November 2019.
